Executive and Management Coaching

Executive Coaching focuses on developing and honing essential Leadership Skills. It represents a sound investment in your people, helping to maximize the potential of the individual within the organization. Whether the focus is on a new executive, a high potential person or an entire team, Rosson & Gordon's highly experienced coaches will work with your people to align individual performance to business results. Coaching gives business leaders the personal support to set and achieve goals, manage stress and combat professional isolation.

Key Themes of the Coaching process may be:

  • Determining individual goals, role expectations and mission for each leader
  • Clarifying and aligning personal and organizational goals, and matching actions and behaviors to key objectives
  • Developing an understanding of personal style, key strengths and communication style and their impact on success
  • Identifying and building successful relationships within the organization
  • Understanding and working on key deliverables and desired outcomes as determined in consultation with the manager
  • Developing improved internal and external communication skills
  • Building strong people management skills, and specifically dealing effectively with challenging situations and handling difficult conversations

Customized Programs

Matching the individual to the coach is essential for a successful relationship. An initial meeting will be held to determine fit and comfort with the coach, and the opportunity will be given to meet with more than one coach. The coach will be clear and direct and help the individual to identify their individual style and strengths and the areas of challenge and potential growth to help meet leadership goals in concert with the goals of the organization.

Psychometric testing may be incorporated into the coaching process; customized assessment exercises may also be used depending on the situation.

Process

There are usually two to three meetings with the individual, their manager and the coach to set expectations and track progress to goals.

Coaching sessions occur at least monthly, typically last from 11/2 to 2 hours with clear agendas. Written summaries are provided by the coach to capture key themes and next steps. The coach is available by phone for urgent situations and meetings may be scheduled as required. Coaching follow-up forms are completed by the individual to determine accomplishments to date and areas that require attention.
